Together We Move
Scholarship Program
We might be passionate about gear, but we're even more passionate about empowering women to get outside and explore the outdoors. To support this value, Alpinistas contributes over 1% of sales towards a variety of programming aimed at educating and aiding women to get outdoors.
One such program is our "Together We Move" Scholarship.
This scholarship will award at least one selected applicant the opportunity to be granted a free course to learn outdoor skills, led by a certified female guide from Alpinistas Guide Service.
In addition to learning these incredible skills first hand, scholarship winners also receive a free product bundle featuring some of the brands that we partner with along with Alpinistas swag, access to the Alpinistas Collective online community platform and priority access to other outdoor programs through the Alpinistas Collective and Alpinistas Guide Service.

The goal of this scholarship is to help to remove obstacles and make the outdoors more accessible to women from all backgrounds. We are seeking applicants who share our values and for whom this type of adventure would be an exceptional opportunity to further their personal outdoor goals and make an impact on improving gender equality in the outdoors.
The program is focused on providing assistance to women who may not have the financial means to participate in this kind of education on their own. If you are able to pay for the event independently, we recommend checking out the all-female trips offered by Alpinistas Collective.
It is recommended that participants have a little bit of hiking experience and should be in good cardiovascular shape or willing to train extensively to prepare.
Alpinistas Events are led by Alpinistas Guide Service and take place in the Sierra Nevada region.
2023 Scholarship Categories
- Mountaineering: Intro to Mountaineering Course with gear from Alpinistas, Rab, C.A.M.P., La Sportiva & Falke
- Rock Climbing: Intro to Rock Climbing Course with gear from Alpinistas, Rab, C.A.M.P. & La Sportiva
- Backpacking: Intro to Backpacking Course with gear from Alpinistas, Deuter, JetBoil, Rab & Falke
- Hiking: Intro to Wilderness Hiking or Intro to Hiking 14ers with gear from Alpinistas, Black Diamond, Rab, Falke & Prana
Applications to apply for the "Together We Move Scholarship" are now closed. They will reopen in early 2024.
The "Together We Move" Scholarship is free to apply for and will be awarded by Alpinistas to a scholarship applicant(s) that meets the qualifications as defined in the Scholarship Application Terms and Conditions*. The retail value of the award may range from $1000 and above, depending on course chosen by applicant and gear supplied by participating brands to support such award, however, no monetary award will be offered in the event the winner cannot attend or complete the program. Alpinistas, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to change or modify the terms of this program. Full terms and conditions to follow upon opening up the application process in April 2024.
**Only one person will be awarded a scholarship per category out of a pool of qualified applicants unless the revenue contributions exceed the program cost for one person. In the event contributions exceed one program cost, additional scholarship winners from the qualified applicant pool may be announced.
The selection process for the Together We Move Scholarship is taken with the utmost importance. Entries will be accepted early 2024.. Throughout the selection process, Alpinistas Leaders evaluate the strongest candidates based on the following criteria:
Alignment with our mission, which includes understanding the need to carve out a space for women in the outdoors and a desire to be a part of creating change.
A valid reason why paying for an adventure out of pocket would be difficult in the near future.
Future impact: How will receiving a scholarship benefit you beyond just adding another accomplishment to your adventure resume.
Participant attendance takes place in 2023 with the exception of Mountaineering which will apply the scholarship to early 2024 programs.
