The Charity: Cartagena Paws
When considering his design for the Bandits Bandanas' Creature Collection, Nicolás immediately thought of Cryptids - or mythical animals that may exist somewhere in the wild, but whose present existence is disputed or unsubstantiated by science. Having long been a fan and admirer of Cryptids, Nicolás was excited to feature some of his favorites in his "Creatures of the Night" design. Specifically, Nicolas features cryptids that are tied by their nocturnal nature and their cliche'd and disputed "sightings" by humans.
Beyond a basic curiosity, Nicolás explores what Sasquatch, the Chupacabra, the Jackalope, and aliens say about US. Since they all act in the dark, he believes that they represent the unknown and what we fear about ourselves. The things we're afraid to "see" or "shine a light on," or that we're unsure of. We interpret these internal fears and collectively manifest them into shared cultural and ancestral experience. The crytids give form to the thing we all fear the most, our own human vulnerability.

- Printed, Cut, Sewn, and Packaged by hand at a Fair Trade Certified facility in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. (Please note that there may be slight sizing and color variations from product to product.)
